Four Ways to Help Us Keep Your Heating Oil and Propane Deliveries Coming This Winter
Posted: January 21, 2019
At Pioneer Oil and Propane, we specialize in timely and reliable propane delivery and heating oil delivery for our Central Massachusetts-area customers. But sometimes Mother Nature makes our jobs just a little more difficult – and when it does, we can really use your assistance.
Shovel and mark your driveway – Did you know that safety codes prohibit us from parking a fuel truck on an incline unless it is clear of snow and wheel chocks (the wedges we put under the tires so the truck doesn’t roll back) can be applied safely? We would hate to arrive at your home and not be able to deliver your fuel (you probably wouldn’t like it either), so please clear your driveway. It also helps if you mark the boundaries of your driveway so we know where it ends under snow cover.
Keep a clear path to your heating oil fill pipe or propane tank – Try to shovel and salt a minimum 12” path to your tank or fill pipe. It’s also good idea to place a high, sturdy flag pole near your outdoor tank before a blizzard in case your tank gets buried under snow.
Unlock gates and control pets – We want to our crews to be safe so they can make it to their next delivery destination!
Don’t wait until the last minute – We all know how unpredictable weather in Massachusetts can be, so don’t wait until the last minute for your heating oil or propane delivery. The fewer emergency fill-ups we have, the more we can deliver on time to everyone on our route – including you.
Thank you for helping us to keep our promise of safe, on-time delivery. Our drivers appreciate your consideration!
